WE Love Bearing “EAR” For You!

ReDux for Clean and Dry Hearing Aids, Ear Buds / Air Pods

Redux is the Gold Standard for drying electronic earpieces. It has rescued more than one device that has gotten dunked in water (it works 67% of the time). It also just helps to improve performance when electronics have been exposed to a lot of heat and humidity (24% improvement in directionality of the microphones).
It does not require chemicals. It only takes about ten minutes. It is safe for rechargeable batteries. We charge $25 for the Redux treatment if you don’t have our Worry-Free Service Plan. Call ahead for either a specific appointment time or to schedule a drop off (pick up generally within 2-3 days).

Captions Available for iPhone and iPad

In a noisy place and having trouble hearing the conversation accurately? Try the Live Caption feature on your device. It can be found under Settings > Accessibility > Live Captions. Once turned on, it will typically type out the words picked up in the nearby conversation.

Listening Fatigue – A Reason for Feeling Tired. . .

Signs include a feeling of low energy; trouble concentrating; irritable; tense; wanting to leave the area.

Contributors of increased fatigue include poor listening environments:

  • Simultaneous conversations
  • Low lighting or glare
  • Fans, Music, Dishwashers, TV in the background
  • Road Noise

Recommended Solutions:

  • Use a “talking stick” to take turns and know who has the floor to speak
  • Identify a conversation partner that you might understand better and ask them to re-phrase
  • Choose a location that is quite(er) and has good lighting
  • Turn down / off competing sound
  • Use captions on a phone or TV
  • Take a break from the noise, rejoin later
  • Go into high demand listening situations well rested
  • Consider using a remote microphone in addition to your healing devices
  • New hearing aids with better sound classification systems and noise reduction can be a game changer. Artifical intelligence is being used to help hearing aid processors make better decision to focus on speech.

Sound Advice. . .

We know there is an abundance of options to help people hear better, some more or less expensive than others. Sometimes selecting a previous generation of “chip set” from a manufacturer is no big deal (last year’s model still performs well) but other times there is a significant improvement in the new design, and you should understand the trade-offs. We are seeing more advertisements and insurance companies touting “premium” and “state of the art” products that just aren’t…what might be available on their contract as “top of the line” maybe the best they have to offer, but not necessarily the latest or best the industry has to offer. We can explain and demonstrate the differences in hearing devices features and match them with your lifestyle needs. Let us help you navigate the waters to better audibility and less listening effort.

Our Promise. . .

We will provide you with expert, face-to-face, diagnostic testing that includes speech in noise assessments, tolerance for loudness and quality of hearing
questionnaires to base your treatment plan recommendations. We will complete aided real ear verification and sound field measurements to insure you are getting the optimal results from the products chosen to assist you.

A Recommendation. . .

If you like to read books, I suggest you consider reading Sound Track of Silence by Matt Hay. An inspiration for those of us that diagnose and treat hearing loss as well as for those personally dealing with progressive hearing loss. I have worked with Matt on mission trips; he is an advocate for change; he
shares what is possible when you have a team around you to help you live your best life.

We want you to live your best life, we are thankful when you share your struggles and your success stories becauase there is a ripple effect. . . we are better together!
Thank you for continuing to entrust us with your hearing care~
