Founded on Trust
Sharon Hirstein
My foundation in faith and family connections are pillars which have helped me face challenges and develop into an expert in hearing health care. As an audiologist, I offer a comprehensive suite of audiological services which follow standards for best practices and client-oriented communication goals to measure success.
I utilize assessments which include cognitive screenings as we recognize the link between hearing loss and cognitive health. Treatment options include options to protect hearing; fit hearing aids; map and program Advanced Bionic cochlear implants as well as address conditions like tinnitus and auditory processing. We believe in a holistic approach to enhance the overall quality of life for our clients.
My master’s degree from Michigan State University was conferred in 1985; became ASHA certified in 1986; and have maintained certification in audiology through the American Academy of Audiology since 1999. The certification process requires a review of continuing education credit in the field of audiology which help to ensure ethical practice and current policies and procedures are utilized.
Free time is spent volunteering with Hearing the Call local and global mission events, as a board member for the Elkhart Council on Aging, supporting the Elkhart Rotary Club, and 100 Women Who Care which is guided through the Community Foundation of Elkhart County. I have a fur-baby, dachshund, named Neville Longbottom who is great for snuggling if not minding (he can be stubborn) … my children are grown and bring me much joy when we can arrange dinner at locally owned restaurants, activities on the water or DIY projects. I am truly blessed!

Our Mission at Elkhart Audiology
Our mission is to help maximize hearing abilities using a combination of client focused evaluative, preventive and rehabilitative care. It is important for our clients to feel we provide valuable products and services that improve their quality of life and reduce barriers to meaningful communication. We provide and service hearing aids in Elkhart, but the time and care we take with our clients – and the superior knowledge that I bring to the discussion – is why I have clients from South Bend, Goshen, Michigan and even Ohio!
