We Are Thankful for You!

Especially this year, we want you to know how much we appreciate your support of our small business. We have had modifications to our schedule, procedures, and occasional product delays impacting our ability to quickly address your hearing needs. So, thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate this changing landscape. We have upgraded air handling equipment, modified our reception area, and added staff to minimize health risk and to keep moving forward with our “white glove” commitment to your hearing care. We look forward to engaging with you in-person and ensuring you have what you need to enjoy your conversations whether they are in person, on the phone or through a virtual visit on your computer as we move into the holidays and the New Year.

WE WILL BE A DROP OFF LOCATION FOR SECRET SANTA FOR SENIORS. ITEMS REQUESTED FOR DONATION INCLUDE: CLEANING SUPPLIES, BOARD GAMES, TOILET PAPER AND WARM SOCKS.

Elkhart Audiology Rehab Team Updates:

Danielle

Danielle joined our staff this month. She has excellent phone and scheduling skills from previous employment in medical practices and customer service roles. She will be one of the friendly voices confirming appointments, verifying insurance, accepting payment, and keeping us sanitized! She and her husband, Justin have 4 children ranging in age from 7 to 14.

Debbie

Debbie is still working remote from home answering phones, completing follow up calls on new hearing aid fittings, recently repaired devices and is available to trouble shoot Blue-tooth cell phone connection questions. She also lends her creative talents with social media projects and special events like our anniversary celebration which was so well received this year.

Stefanie

Stefanie completed course work last spring and has been expanding her role here as my audiology assistant. She handles all types of cleanings, repairs, and tests all new products and manufacture repairs with our “HIT” box to verify they meet ANSI specifications for out-put, gain, distortion and even directionality. She will begin observing me complete programming adjustments and hearing tests with patients over the next few months. She will eventually be seeing patients independently which will increase our capacity and reduce your wait time.

Sharon

Sharon has recently been recognized as a Dr. Cliff Approved Provider. What does this mean for you and others? Dr Cliff is an audiologist in Arizona that initiated a YouTube “best practices” movement for consumers to help them ask better questions about hearing aid fitting protocols to help them get optimal outcomes for their hearing care. His list highlights providers dedicated to following best practices in testing and providing amplification services.

Everyone that sells a hearing aid does not have the same skill level, equipment, or procedures in place, yet they are legal. I have never been the least expensive provider in my area as we have a higher cost for the education, equipment, and professional staff who will attend to your specific needs and solve your communication concerns. If you want to watch some of his videos or share them with others who wonder why seeing an expert is crucial to their hearing success, visit www.drcliffaud.com

“Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.” – Unknown

Visiting our Office: Keeping in mind the health of our clients and employees we will continue to see clients by appointment and will require our clients to wear masks. The reason this is required is due to the limitation we have in our office to keep everyone 6 feet apart entering, exiting, and receiving personal care. We are essentially using your car as our waiting room. We request if you are not feeling well, stay home. We will screen your temperature and symptoms prior to your entry. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. We really are making every effort to maintain our services and not be required to close due to Covid-19.

Our Office Hours have been expanded: We are now available Monday thru Thursday from 8 am to 530. We hope this helps those trying to minimize time off work. We will evaluate re-opening on Fridays in 2021.

In the Event of an Office Closure due to a Covid-19 illness or quarantine order… we will continue to answer our phones and provide remote/curbside services. We have also added a shopping feature to our website. You may purchase hearing aid supplies 24/7 and they will be delivered to you by mail by our vendor Oak Tree Products. Any supplies typically covered under your service package with us will still need to be ordered and picked up from someone on our team.

Need Another Reason to Quit?

According to the Journal of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, quitting or reducing smoking and avoiding passive tobacco smoke may prevent hearing loss. The study shows that the passive exposure to tobacco smoke compared to non-smokers was associated with 28% elevated risk of hearing loss. So, quitting will help your lungs and your ears!

As always, we wish you the very best! We value your trust, your suggestions, and your business. Call us anytime. We are here to help. We look forward to your next visit…fresh cookies are waiting, along with warm conversation and caring expert hearing advice.

Sharon, Stefanie, Deb and Danielle
